Fr. David G. Reeson, 71, of Fremont passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, enjoying his time on a cruise to Alaska.

Dave was born on November 13, 1952 to Denis and Darlene (Cusick) Reeson in Fremont. He attended St. Patrick Grade School and Archbishop Bergan High School, later graduating from Fremont High School in 1971. Following high school, he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Dave eventually attended St. John Vianney College Seminary at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He served in the United States Air Force as a chaplain, retiring at the rank of Colonel. Dave then served at St. Columbkille Parish in Omaha and the past few years at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Parish in Omaha.

Dave was a world traveler and loved taking cruses. Dave enjoyed life, always looked for ways to save money, and put on an unforgettable smile.

He was preceded by his parents and brother, Stephen Reeson.

He is survived by brothers, Chuck Reeson, Greg (Donna) Reeson, Mark (Marsha) Reeson, and Scott (Cathy) Reeson; nephews, Gregory Francis II (Michelle) Reeson and Andrew Reeson; great niece, Natalie; and great nephews, Zane and Zach.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with a Knights of Columbus rosary starting at 7.

Burial will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha.

Memorials may be donor’s choice.
