Herlinda ‘Linda’ M. Martinez, 80, of Fremont passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. She was born July 28, 1945 in El Paso, Texas, to Raymundo Rodolpho and Maria (Delgado) Moreno.
Linda grew up in El Paso and graduated from high school there. She married Alfonso G. Martinez in 1976 in El Paso. They later were married on September 22, 1989 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. They moved to Fremont in 1978.
Linda worked part time at the Fremont YMCA and later the Methodist Fremont Health in their wellness center, retiring in 2000.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church Catholic Daughters, Fremont Eagles Club DAV Chapter 18 of Fremont and American Legion Post #20 Auxiliary. She volunteered for Keep Fremont Beautiful, Habitat for Humanity, Home Bound-Hospital Ministry and the Hispanic Ministry. She was also an EMHC at St. Pats.
Linda is survived by her husband, Al Martinez of Fremont; sons, Christopher Martinez, Ruben Martinez, both of Fremont; Oscar (Deanna) Martinez of Ramona, California, Alfonzo A. Martinez of Fremont and Jason L. Martinez of Omaha; brothers, Raymond (Marisela) Moreno and Rodolpho Moreno all of El Paso, Texas; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents; brother, Ramon Moreno and sisters, Esperanza and Isaura “Rosie”.
Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, May 19, 202,6 with a Catholic Daughters Rosary at 7, all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
Private interment will be at Calvary Cemetery Niche in Fremont.
