FREMONT, NE – The Diamond Baseball League (DBL) is excited to formally announce that the Fremont Moo have joined the League for the inaugural 2026 season.   The Moo was founded in 2019 and in most recent seasons played as a member of the Independence League.

The Diamond Baseball League is a top tier collegiate summer baseball league that begins play this summer.  The League will focus on providing an experience that mirrors the fun of a minor league baseball event for fans, sponsors, and players with an emphasis on promotions, events which benefit the community and affordable, family entertainment.

The DBL management team has over 100 years of combined professional sports experience, including ownership and operation of collegiate summer, independent professional and minor league baseball teams affiliated with Major League franchises.

The Moo will round out the six-team League which includes the Grand Island Fightin’ Cranes and Hastings Sodbusters in Nebraska, the Salina Sliders in Kansas, and the Jefferson City Renegades and Sedalia Steamers in Missouri.

The League’s regular season runs from May 27th through July 31st, with a week of playoffs to follow in August.

Matt Perry, one of the founders of the League, commented on the addition of the Moo. “We’ve been working for months on the logistics of acquiring the Fremont Moo franchise.  There are still a few items to work through, which we’re setting aside until this fall, and turning our attention on working closely with Chad (Miller) and his family on ramping up operations for the Moo as one of the inaugural members of the League.”

Chad Miller, founder of the Moo, added, “Since the beginning of discussions with the Diamond Baseball League, we have been excited about the opportunity to be an inaugural member of the new league.  While the goal was to transfer Moo ownership to the League, ultimately the timeline became too condensed to finalize the transition for this summer.  As a result, we have made the decision to partner with the League, while maintaining ownership, so our great fans and community will have another fun-filled summer of Moo baseball”.  Miller further iterated, “In the coming days, we will be announcing an abundance of information about the upcoming season to include the schedule, ticket information, player/staff announcements and more.   We can’t wait to see everyone back at historic Moller Field this summer.”
