SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), along with presenting sponsor Hauff Mid-America Sports, has announced its softball player and pitcher of the week for contests played April 13-19, 2026. Midland University’s Mackenzie Groninga was selected as the GPAC Pitcher of the Week, while Chloe Kreuz of Dordt University earned player honors.
Groninga, a sophomore from Blair, Nebraska, picked up four wins in the circle last week. In her final outing, going up against conference-leading Dakota Wesleyan, she pitched a one-hitter with a career-high 15 strikeouts. For the week, she pitched 25.0 innings with 35 strikeouts (9.8 k/7) and had an ERA of 1.12. This is her second weekly honor from the GPAC this season.
