Sixteen New Cases of COVID-19 Since Friday

FREMONT – Sixteen new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the Three Rivers Public Health Department jurisdiction since Friday, July 17th.
Case totals throughout this jurisdiction are currently:

  • Dodge County: 729 cases (+9 since Friday)
  • Saunders County: 101 cases (+4)
  • Washington County: 74 cases (+3)

Total 3RPHD Case Count: 904 cases (+16)
Dodge County is 9th in the state for highest number of positive cases over the last 14 days. The Three Rivers Public Health Department COVID-19 risk dial remains in the center of the “Moderate” risk category.
Local hospitals are reporting 313 medical beds available. 77 patients are hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the 363 ventilators available to area hospitals, 135 were in use, including 14 for confirmed COVID-19 patients.
The Health Department continues to encourage everyone to sign up for COVID testing through the TestNebraska program at www.testnebraska.com.
Health authorities throughout the country continue to encourage the use of cloth face coverings in all public settings. A recent case study by the CDC shows that 139 clients of a Springfield, MO hair salon had contact with two symptomatic, COVID-19 positive stylists. Both the stylists and all clients wore masks; none of the clients who had prolonged – but masked – contact with the stylists became symptomatic. Of the 139 people exposed, 67 opted for testing. All 67 tests returned negative.
After public health contact tracings and 2 weeks of follow-up, no COVID-19 symptoms were identified among the 139 exposed clients or their secondary contacts.
