
Julaine C. Hammond, 89, of Fremont passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont. She was born February 15, 1937 in Lebanon, Oregon, to James and Nellie (Fuller) Boothe.
At the age of two the family came to Fremont. She graduated from high school and then married Leon G.J. Hammond on August 27, 1954 in Fremont. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2003.
Julaine was a former member of First Christian Church in Fremont. She was a waitress for more than 30 years at the Fremont Happy Chef. She also had in-home daycare for 10 years and was a foster parent for teen children.
She is survived by her daughters, Jamey (Tom) Cassidy of Hooper and Nicole “Nikki” Hammond of Fremont, brothers, Jonathan Boothe of Fremont, James “Chris” (Carolyn) Boothe of Grove, Oklahoma, and Stephen (Betty) Boothe of Fremont; sisters Donna (George) Watson-Easley of Lincoln and Charis (Delbert) Mach of Arlington, Washington; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughter, Mary Svoboda, son, Christian Hammond, granddaughter, Jordan Sample; sister, Ethelanne (Gary) Sherman; in-laws, Charles and Elsa Hammond; and brother-in-law, Richard Watson.
Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday May 30, 2026, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. also at Moser’s on Saturday.
