
Marvin O. Hines, 88 of Morse Bluff passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Marvin was born on March 8, 1973 to Otto and Rose (Travnicek) Hines at Morse Bluff. Marvin attended District 14 until 10th grade. He was a 1954 graduated at North Bend High School. He then attended college in Tarkio, Missouri. On April 24, 1961, he married Karen Rohran at Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont.
Marvin worked on the family dairy farm until 1980. Marvin and Karen later moved to the family Pioneer Farm, which has been in the family for nearly 130 years.
Outside of farming, Marvin kept very busy in the community being a member on several boards including: Morse Bluff District 14 school board, NBC foundation and school board, ESU #2 board, Saunders County Farm Bureau board, Morse Rural Fire board, United Presbyterian Church Session and Elder board, AMVET’s and American Legion Post #340 at Morse Bluff.
Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Jeff and wife Barbara Hines; daughters, Cheryl and husband Ward Reesman, and Lori and husband Gary May; sister, Elaine Jones; grandchildren, Todd and wife Sarah Beranek, Alex and wife Lauren Hines, Austin and wife Kelsey Hines, Nick and wife Kaitlynn Hines, Matthew Reesman, and Rebecca Goth, Eryn and husband Guiseppe Montesano; and grandchildren, Konnor, Krista, Todd Jr., and Nathan Beranek.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the United Presbyterian Church in North Bend, Nebraska. Military honors will be conducted at the church following the service. A memorial visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend.
Burial at Killian Cemetery will take place at a later date.
