A Fremont man was arrested Wednesday night for a hit-and-run accident that occurred Tuesday.
At about 6:45 Tuesday night, Fremont police responded to the intersection of Military and Park Avenue for a hit-and-run accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, a 59-year-old male was located laying in the middle of the crosswalk suffering from injuries caused by the collision. The victim was transported to a medical facility.
An investigation was initiated including talking to witnesses and canvassing the area for the vehicle, the suspect or any camera footage. A suspected vehicle description was obtained and the investigation continued into the next day.
At about 6:04 Wednesday night, police arrested Tomas Pol Chitic Ramos, 35, for failing to stop and render aid/serious injury or death.
