Fremont man arrested for making illegal fireworks

A Fremont man was arrested Tuesday for making illegal fireworks.

The Fremont Police Department, in conjunction with the III Corps Drug Task Force and the Nebraska State Patrol, executed a search warrant in the 1700 block of North Keene Avenue following an investigation. The search located various materials used in the making of explosives and other materials used for making illegal fireworks.

The resident of the home, Jared Dean Eickhorst, 44, was arrested as a result of the search and charged with the offenses listed below:

 

1. Possession of Explosive Materials – 1st Degree (IV Felony)

2. Using Explosives to Damage Property – (III Felony)

3. Criminal Mischief (II Misdemeanor)

4. Possession of Marijuana Less than 1oz (infraction)

5. Possession of drug paraphernalia (infraction)

The Fremont Police Department would like to remind everyone that making homemade fireworks is not only illegal but is unsafe. If you observe individuals using illegal fireworks please notify local authorities.
