Homeowners receive incorrect information on postcard

dodge-county

By now, many Dodge County property owners have received a pink postcard regarding LB 644:

“If political subdivisions (counties, cities, schools, and/or community colleges) seek to

increase its property tax request by more than the allowable growth percentage, they

may do so if…each political subdivision participates in a joint public hearing organized

by the County Clerk.”

Unfortunately, there are a couple of errors on the postcards.

1. The meeting place for the school districts of Fremont, Logan View, Scribner-Snyder, and the City of Hooper, is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the Educational Service Unit No. 2 building, 2320 North Colorado Avenue in Fremont. It is not at the Burt County Courthouse as printed on the postcard.

2. The “Estimated Increase” shown in the fourth column was calculated incorrectly, and will be amended.

Officials are hopeful that there is enough time to have corrected postcards reprinted and mailed for the Tuesday meeting. Should you have any questions or concerns, you are urged to call the phone number shown in the first column under the name of the political subdivision.

Note: These postcards did not originate in the Dodge County Assessor’s Office. The assessor’s office only input on the postcards was providing the property owner names and addresses to the state.
