City rolls out online payment system

The Fremont Department of Utilities has announced the launch of their new online payment system and expanded payment options.
In addition to the traditional payment methods, they now offer the ability to pay your utility bill over the phone, by text message and at Walmart. The expanded menu of accepted payment vendors includes Discover, Mastercard, Visa, Venmo, Amazon Pay, and PayPal.
In order to continue enjoying the benefits of an online utility account, customers will need to register their account at the new online portal found under Online Payments at www.fremontne.gov.
Once customers have registered their account(s) at the new online portal and placed their desired payment method(s) in their online wallet, they can sign up for text message reminders, pay by text, and automatic payments. Customers also have the option of making a one-time payment that allows for a quick payment without having to register an account.
Current customers who utilize bank draft (ACH) for their automatic monthly payments do not need to take any action – their monthly payments will continue to process as normal as this payment method was not affected by the transition.
Current customers who were utilizing a credit card for their automatic monthly payments
will need to take action as this payment method did not transition over. In order to continue paying their utility bill via credit card autopay, these customers will need to register their account at the new online portal and re-enroll in autopay.
Additionally, the Fremont Department of Utilities is pleased to have fulfilled a high demand request by implementing an automated phone payment system with features such as payment with a credit card, debit card or eCheck and an easy-to-use call flow. Customers can access the automated phone payment system 24/7/365 by calling 833-277-8709.
