MU honors Who’s Who Award recipients

 Midland University recently recognized 18 students as 2025-26 Who’s Who Award Among Students recipients. The students were honored during a ceremony Nov. 17 at the Olson Student Center.

The Who’s Who Award honors senior candidates whose academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in co-curricular activities, and potential for continued success are decidedly above average.

Honorees were:

Callee Alexander – Callee is from Ord and is the daughter of Matt and Laurie Alexander. She is an Arts Management major with a minor in Criminal Justice. She is a member of the Midland Dance team, president of the Midland Agribusiness Club, and is involved in Phi Omega sorority. She also works in the quiz lab, serves as a Resident Advisor, and works in the Student Life office.

Laura Alonzo – Laura is from Fremont and is the daughter of Nicolas Alonzo and Marta Tzunux. Laura is double-majoring in Biology and Human Services and has a minor in Chemistry with a concentration in Community and Mental Health. She is involved in Circle K International, the Howard Hanson Honors Program, Phi Omega Sorority, and Psi Chi Honor Society. She also works as a lab consultant in the Academic Resource Center.

Brodie Arnold – Brodie is from Kearney and is the son of Neal and Kristie Arnold. Brodie is a Digital Marketing major with a minor in Sports Management. He is an Admissions Ambassador, President of FBLA-C, member of Leadership Fremont, and is part of the Midland Mentorship program.

Tasha Baxter – Tasha is from Nevada, Missouri, and is the daughter of Daniel Baxter. She is majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis on Project Management. Tasha is involved in FBLA-C, is a Student Ambassador for the Aksarben Foundation, is involved with Leadership Midland, and is part of the Midland Mentorship program.

Sarah Beach – Sarah is from Ponca and is the daughter of Brian and Candice Hansen and Christopher and Jaclyn Beach. She is a PK-12 Music Education major with a 7-12 Theatre endorsement. Sarah has been involved in choir, band, and theatre, and served as president of the Music Education chapter along with being vice president of the Alpha Psi Omega Honorary Theatre Fraternity.

Peyton Busteed – Peyton is from Omaha and is the daughter of Bryan and Kerrie Busteed. Peyton is a Secondary English Education major. She also serves as a consultant in the Writing Lab, is a member of the English Honors Society, and is a national referee for powerlifting.

Lucas Hjortkjaer – Lucas is from Hvalsoe, Denmark, and is the son of Jacob Soegaard and Charlotte Hjortkjaer. Lucas is a double-major in Business Administration and Business Intelligence & Technology with a concentration in coaching. Lucas is president of Kappa Phi Fraternity, vice president of Global Warriors, a Student Hall Director, and member of the Student Senate.

Sydney Hurst – Sydney is from Fremont and is the daughter of Seth Brahmer and Amy Johnson. Sydney is a Nursing major with a minor in Nutrition. She is President of the Student Nurses Association, a Student Ambassador, a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and part of Leadership Midland.

Mia Linder – Mia is from Oakland and is the daughter of Chad and Elisabeth Linder. Mia is a Biology major with a minor in Chemistry. She is a member of the choir and the select a cappella ensemble, as well as having performed in multiple productions. She also works as the Biology lab assistant.

Allaya Livingston – Allaya is from Houston, Texas, and is the daughter of Timothy and Treasure Livingston. Allaya is a Criminal Justice major with a minor in Sociology and is also receiving her coaching certification. She is a Student Hall Director, member of Pi Epsilon sorority, and a member of Pi Gamma MU Honor Society.

Caleb Malousek – Caleb is from and is the son of Curt and Ginger Malousek. He is a Digital Marketing major with a minor in Communication and Management. Caleb has been involved in Student Senate, choir, Clef Dwellers, Blue Key National Honor Society, and Circle K International.

Kylie Phillips – Kylie is from Fremont and is the daughter of Mike and JoDell Phillips. Kylie is majoring in Elementary Education, along with earning endorsements in Special Education and High Ability Learner.

Pampa Raffin – Pampa is from Cordoba, Argentina, and is the son of Tony Raffin and Lelia Mateos. Pampa is majoring in Business Intelligence & Technology and Financial Services. He has served as president of Global Warriors, worked as a Student Hall Director, and been involved in the Student Senate.

Sarah Sjoberg – Sarah is from Citrus Heights, California, and is the daughter of Wendy Sjoberg. Sarah is majoring in Biology and Business with minors in Chemistry and Animal Production. She is a captain for the Shotgun sports team.

Logan Spencer – Logan is from Lindsborg, Kansas, and is the daughter of Marcus Spencer and Elizabeth Brooks. Logan is triple-majoring in Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice while earning certificates in Diversity & Inclusion, and Social Emotional Learning & Behavior Wellness. She is involved in choir, Clef Dwellers, Pi Gamma Mu, and the Howard Hanson Honors program.

Abby Spidle – Abby is from Omaha and is the daughter of Jeff and Nancy Spidle. Abby is a Psychology major with a compressed major in Business Administration. She serves as a Resident Advisor, Peer Career Coach in the Career Studio, and is also involved in FBLA-C and FCA.

Emma Thompson – Emma is from Council Bluffs, Iowa, and is the daughter of Ed and Amy Thompson. She is majoring in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood and a minor in English. She is also earning a certificate in Social-Emotional Learning. She is involved in choir, a consultant in the Writing Lab, and works in the Financial Aid office. She also has been a member of the Nebraska State Education Association-Aspiring Educators.

Lauren Williams – Lauren is from Council Bluffs, Iowa, and is the daughter of Chris and Jennifer Williams. Lauren is double-majoring in Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis with a coaching certification. She is part of Pinky Swear Pack, has worked in the Learning Lab, and is involved in Psi Chi Honor Society, Pi Gamma MU Honor Society, and Residence Life.
