Walnut Media on Friday received an award from patriotic volunteers in the community.
Al Martinez and RJ Riggs, who are also members of the Fremont chapter of Disabled American Veterans, presented Chris Walz and Karla James with the Eagle Award during The Morning Show.
“It isn’t an organization or anything like that, but we want to acknowledge and promote citizenship and patriotism,” Martinez said. “The Eagle Award is our way of saying how much we appreciate what you do for veterans and the citizens of this community.”
Martinez said the Eagle Awards have been presented to the police and fire departments as well as other individuals and organizations.
Walz, the general manager of the Fremont radio stations, said Walnut Media was grateful for the honor.
