Arlen L. Gnuse of Fremont, NE passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Pathfinder Senior Living in Fremont, NE. Arlen was born on August 2, 1932 in rural Hooper, NE to Lawrence and Elsie (Hagerbaumer) Gnuse. He graduated from Concordia High School in Seward, NE in 1950. On April 12, 1953, Arlen married Marjorie Thernes in Hooper, NE. They made their home in Fremont where they raised their family and were members of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Arlen was employed for many years at Gambles Warehouse and Fremont Public Schools. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; daughters Sheryl (Dan) Stork, Lori (Brian) Essen; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; In-laws include Larry and Julene Karloff, Sharon Thernes, Berniece Thernes, and Janice Bopp.
Arlen was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Verdell Gnuse, Eugene (Becky) Gnuse, brothers in-law Louis Thernes, Kenneth Thernes and Willis Bopp.
The funeral service will be Thursday April 18, 2024, 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fremont, NE. Visitation will be at Trinity one hour before the service. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, Fremont Public Schools Foundation, or Midland University.
