The Fremont Police Department is investigating two recent fraud cases.

Officials said the scam involves someone calling and pretending to be a family member in trouble and in need of a substantial amount of money. The perpetrators in the two fraud cases stated grandchildren were involved in accidents. In these two instances, an individual came to the residence and collected the money in person.
