Multiple sources have indicated that U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse will resign his position to accept a job at the University of Florida.

KFAB talk show host Ian Swanson announced on his show Thursday that Sasse was resigning for a job at an academic institution.

Politico later reported that the Nebraska Republican was leaving for a job at the University of Florida.

No one from Sasse’s office has provided official confirmation.

If Sasse’s departure is confirmed, his replacement would be named by Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts.

Sasse is currently in his second term.
