Police in Lincoln said a 16-year-old’s wheelchair was stolen along with two debit cards later used for fraudulent charges.
Lincoln Police said officers were called Sunday around 12:45 p.m. about someone who had his 16-year-old son’s wheelchair from their front yard.
LPD said that the son had left the wheelchair in the front yard next to the family vehicle before going inside.
When the adult went back out to get the wheelchair, it was gone.

Also on the wheelchair was his son’s backpack and two debit cards.
About an hour later, police said the victim got fraud alerts on their phone from local businesses on West O Street.
LPD said that adult began searching the area of West O and saw a silver Hyundai Santa Fe next to an ATM in a parking lot.
Allegedly he saw his son’s wheelchair in the backseat as he drove by, and he called the police.

Police said the man continued to give them updates on the vehicles location and officers eventually made contact with the two occupants, 40-year-old Reynaldo Gonzalez Jr. and 35-year-old Latisha Castillo.
After an investigation, Gonzalez Jr. and Castillo were arrested.
Officers said they found a total of 14.9gm of methamphetamine.

Gonzalez Jr. was arrested for theft by unlawful taking $5,000 or more, criminal possession of a financial transaction device, and possession of a controlled substance.
Castillo was arrested for theft by unlawful taking $5,000 or more, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
