Carter Waters of Fremont High School sets a meet record while winning the 1,600 meters Saturday at the Bulldogs Track & Field Challenge in Seward. The Tigers won the team championship.

The Fremont High School boys track team captured first place while the girls were second on Saturday at the Bulldog Track & Field Challenge in Seward.
The boys outscored runner-up Lincoln Southeast 101-70 while Southwest won the girls championship outscoring the Tigers 160-145.
Carter Waters of the Tigers set a meet record while winning the 1,600 in 4:18.73 while teammate Braden Taylor established a new meet mark in the 800 (1:57.01).
Fremont also set a meet record in winning the 1,600-meter relay in 3:32.87. Tyson Baker, Waters, Nolan Miller and Drew Sellon comprised the foursome.
Other champions for the boys include: Miller in the 3,200 meters (9:53.94), Baker in the 400 (51.44), Micah Moore in the 200 (23.17) and Drew Sellon in the pole vault (14-6).
Seniors Lucy Dillon (at left) and Elli Dahl set meet records while winning their respective girls events. Dillon won the 400 meters in 59.74 while Dahl captured top honors in the 1,600 (4:58.18). FHS also set a meet record in the 1,600-meter relay in 4:13.60. Runners were: Dillon, Tania Gleason, Emmalee Sheppard and Sydney Glause.
Champions for the girls include the 3,200-meter relay team of Ayva Darmento, Jaiden Rensch, Elli Dahl and Mia Wagner (10:22.21), Chloe Hemmer in the 3,200 (12:55.26), Maris Dahl in the 800 (2:29), Hadeley Dowty in the discus (109-8)
