Fundraiser set for Imagination Library

A fundraiser that helps get books to children in the area is set for Tuesday.

Christy Fiala of the Fremont Area United Way said the “Hats off to Literacy” fundraiser for the Imagination Library is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fremont Golf Club.

“It is a luncheon to fundraise those dollars so that we have books going out to kiddos 0-5 throughout Dodge County,” she said.

The program affects many families in the area.

“Every month we send nearly 1,000 books to children’s homes and it means a lot to those families,” Fiala said. “We fundraise for that with this luncheon. I’m so grateful for so many sponsors and individuals who have signed up to be there. There are still spots open if people are interested in a table or attend the event. We would love to have you.”

Fiala said United Way is also involved in the “Stuff the Bus” program that helps with school supplies for children.

“You’ll see one of those big, beautiful yellow buses around town with a sign encouraging you that when you go into a store to purchase school supplies you might purchase some for others as well,” she said. “You will see at the entrance of many facilities in the community a box or a bin in order to donate.”

The supplies will then be collected to go to the schools to assist students throughout the year.
