The traffic signal at Old U.S. 275 and Downing was struck by lightning Tuesday, causing damage to multiple components.
The signal will now flash red in all directions and the intersection will temporarily become a four-way stop until the Department of Utilities can complete a repair.
City officials will work with a consultant to evaluate the damage and come up with a solution to repair the signal.
