FPS Announces No School November 5

FREMONT – Fremont Public Schools announced that on Thursday, November 5, students will not be in attendance. This day is coupled with the previously scheduled professional development day on November 6. The additional day without students will provide teachers with an opportunity to make continual preparations for students in FPS’ learning management online systems.
“These additional days off have proven effective for teachers this year and have allowed them extra time to dedicate to developing lessons in SeeSaw and Canvas,” stated Mark Shepard, Superintendent of Schools. “Our teachers have been amazing – tending to students both in class and online through our virtual learning environment.”
President of the Board of Education, Sandi Proskovec shared, “Our teachers and administrators are committed to seeing every student be successful while recognizing that during the pandemic, having options available for families has been a large part of our success. We have a community that is very understanding and is supportive of our schools and teachers – for that we are very thankful.”
