Former Dodge County Deputy Craig Harbaugh trial to continue August 25

FREMONT- On Oct. 23, 2019, former Dodge County Deputy, Craig Harbaugh, was arrested and had his initial appearance on October 23, 2019, in federal court in Omaha. His new trial date has been set for August 25, 2020.

Harbaugh was the subject of a 15-count indictment. Thirteen counts of wire fraud, with a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and two charges of bank fraud resulting in a maximum 30-year sentence. All counts are results from the same investment scheme.
It is alleged that Harbaugh and his company, Tactical Solutions Gear, LLC, defrauded a bank and six victims of $10,979,214 by using fake contracts. Investigators believe Harbaugh told investors and loan officers that he had secured multimillion-dollar contracts with the Nebraska State Patrol and Department of Defense. Great Western Bank has suffered roughly $4.6 million due to Harbaugh’s scheme, according to a court document.

At the hearing, Craig Harbaugh pleaded not guilty to all counts. He walked out of jail with requirements to follow all rules before his trial. The court ordered that he cannot contact victims, if he changes his address he must notify his attorney, and he must remove all firearms from his home.

According to court documents, Harbaugh began devising the plan as early as October 21, 2014, and tried to execute the plan over the course of 15 months until roughly October 21, 2019.
