Fremont Public Schools Weekly Update

FREMONT- Superintendent Mark Shepard announced the FPS plan for the schools and summer programs as Gov. Ricketts released new Directed Health Measures for June.

Fremont Public Schools Will Remain Closed in June:

  • Fremont Public Schools buildings and outside use will remain closed to the public
  • School offices will remain open
  • Contact the school office to arrange a time to drop off school property or pick up personal belongings

Weight Room and Gym Use:

  • On June 1st, the High School weight room and gym will reopen for student use
  • Proper social distancing must be maintained and a limited number of students will be allowed in the gym and weight room at all times
  • Equipment will be sanitized after each individual use
  • Coaches will be in contact with athletes
  • The FHS Track and Tennis Courts will remain open for public use

FPS Playground Equipment:

  • FPS Playground Equipment will open for public use June 1st
  • Equipment will be on a “use at your own risk” basis – it is not being sanitized regularly
  • FPS playfields remain open as long as social distancing is maintained

Summer Feeding Program:

  • The Summer Feeding Program will continue serving meals two days a week
  • Mondays and Thursdays there will be multi-day meals available
  • These meals will be available at Bell Field, Linden, and Washington Elementary School and Meadowbrook
  • Elementary times will be between 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
  • Meadowbrook times will be between 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

High School Student- Summer Learning Program:

  • Extended summer learning is being made available through Metropolitan Community College
  • Online classes are being made available at 1/2 price tuition
  • Seniors can still receive the discount for the summer quarter
  • Contact Todd Hansen by June 1st at (531)-622-3001 to get registered
  • Classes are from June 5 – August 15
