Historic St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 811 Locust Street in North Bend is a 2025 nominee for the National Register of Historic Places. On Nov 2, its history, architecture and art will be celebrated with an afternoon art tour featuring the towering hand-carved wood altars, statuary which includes creations from the Daprato Rigali Studios of Chicago, and magnificent stained-glass windows created by the Franz Mayer Studios of Munich. All of the art, windows and fixtures are original to the 1916 church build. at 6:15 in the evening, an interdenominational “Illumination Service” will be held celebrating the stained-glass windows through narration, music, and poetry. A food truck will be on sight from 4:30 to 7 for visitors to purchase food. The event is free.
