Maundy Thursday Worship Service
April 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeA Tenebrae service, meaning “darkness” in Latin, is a somber liturgical service during Holy Week, that recalls the events of Jesus’ last days, marked by the gradual extinguishing of candles and a loud noise at the end, symbolizing the darkness of Christ’s death and the earthquake that followed.
The purpose of the service is to recreate the betrayal, abandonment, and agony of the events, and it is left unfinished, because the story isn’t over until Easter Day.
