OMAHA – Mandi Granato posted her second straight top-five finish, leading the Omaha women’s golf team to second at the MSU Stewart Memorial on Tuesday at Twin Oaks Country Club.
Granato finished the 54-hole event with her best round of the tournament, a four-over 75, to finish at 232, good for fourth overall. She led the Mavericks in scoring in all three fall tournaments.
The Mavericks closed with a team score of 309, their best round of the event, to post a score of 954. Host Missouri State won with a tally of 902. Missouri State’s “B” team was third at 966.
Freshman Jinna Boonbumroongsuk was second on the team and seventh overall with a two-day total of 238. She shot 77 in round three.
Zora Gittens finished 12th in the field, firing 83 in the third round to post a score of 245. She was three strokes ahead of Hannah Hunke who carded a 79 on Tuesday for a total of 248. She tied for 14th.
Mika Miyata closed out the team scoring, shooting 78 for a three-round total of 256. She finished 17th.
Izzi Puk closed with a card of 83 for a total of 262, putting her in a tie with teammate Brynn Sundquist who shot 81 in round three. They tied for 19th. Both players competed as individuals.
The event was the last of the fall season for the Mavericks.
