DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. – The Midland University women’s golf team hit the links for the two-day Briar Cliff Invite at the Two Rivers Golf Course. The Warriors placed 13th in the field of 14 teams with a two-day score of 782—a 35 stroke improvement from their previous 36-hole event. Morningside took the team crown with a combined score of 628.
Junior Erin Baum was Midland’s top finisher with a score of 178 (93, 85)—tying for 33rd. Senior Renee Marcotte followed with a score of 194 (102, 92) which tied for 60th place. Other finishers for the Warriors were sophomore Olivia Engel (64th, 196) and freshman Claire Westerholt (74th, 214).
Kendra Placke of Concordia University earned the individual title with a score of 149 (72, 77).
“We continue to improve every day,” stated Midland head coach Allison Pokorny. “I am excited about how the team performed, especially Saturday, and we are ready to get back to work for continued progress.”
Midland will be back in action on Tuesday as they compete in the College of Saint Mary Invite at the River Wilds Golf Club in Blair, Nebraska.
