FREMONT- Fremont Public Schools Superintendent, Mark Shepard, spoke on the KHUB Morning Show, August 20, 2020, to discuss the first two weeks of school and continued updates to protocols and planning this semester.
Mark Shepard first spoke on how the first two weeks of school have been for the Fremont Public School system.
Over the course of the 2020 summer feeding program, Shepard said they provided over 140,000 meals to students.
FPS has received a $1 Million grant between three public school systems to help aid in some educational processes.
Shepard said FPS has good safety mechanisms in place thanks to this grant funding.
Superintendent Mark Shepard also shared some of the protocols they will be following for fall sporting events.
Shepard said they will also be limiting tickets during sporting events.
The Three Rivers Community COVID-19 Risk Dial is updated weekly on Wednesdays. Shepard discussed how they use this data to plan for each school week.
With the Three Rivers Risk Dial trending upward, FPS will be sending out updated information to parents about the 50/50 model.
