The Three Rivers Public Health Department invites the community to join in celebrating National Public Health Week on April 6–12, 2026.
This year’s theme, “Ready. Set. Action!” encourages individuals and communities to take steps toward improving health and well-being. The week is an opportunity to recognize how public health has improved our daily lives, safeguarded our families, expanded life expectancy, and strengthened our communities. It is also a time to honor the public health professionals who serve our communities every day and to advocate for policies and practices that promote health for all.
“Public health plays a vital role in our everyday lives, often in ways we don’t even notice,” said Terra Uhing, executive director of the Three Rivers Public Health Department. “From the safety of our homes to the health of our families, public health helps protect and support our communities every single day. Public Health Week is a reminder of why that work matters and why it’s important we continue investing in the health of all.”
Three Rivers, serving Dodge, Saunders and Washington counties, is hosting three free community events:
Car Seat Recycling Event
April 6 — 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Three Rivers Public Health Department 2400 N Lincoln Ave. in Fremont.
