Leslie L. “Les” Focht, 89, of Fremont passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Methodist Fremont Health. He was born September 11, 1936 in Sidney, Iowa, to Lloyd and Alice (Hedlund) Focht.

Les graduated from Wahoo High School in 1954. Les married Carole Cummins August 25, 1973 at St. Matthew Lutheran in Cedar Bluffs. He was an accountant for Union Pacific Railroad for thirteen years. He then started his 21-year career at Valmont Industries in Valley. He retired in 1996. Les then did various sales and plumbing work and was also a Fremont Police Reserve deputy and then Patrolman for several years each.

He was a life member of FOE Eagles #200 in Fremont and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Les was a former member of several hobby related clubs also. He and Carole traveled extensively and really enjoyed their time in Estes Park, Colorado,  and the mountains. Les also enjoyed woodworking and yardwork and his pets, especially his cat Daisy.

Survivors include his wife Carole of Fremont, sons, Mike (Terri) Focht of St. Peters, Missouri, Mitch (Judy) Focht and Mic Focht all of Phoenix; daughters, Debbie Focht of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Deanna Peters of Scottsdale, Arizona; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters and one grandson.

The Celebration of Life Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service. Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
