WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Midland University wrapped up its weekend series in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday afternoon. Midland fell in the final game of the series after a first-inning surge by No.24 Keiser, resulting in a 15-6 loss.
Keiser created separation early, opening the first inning with a 7-0 lead on six hits.
Dax Wandler got things started in the second with a single through the right side. Owen Glover followed with a two-run home run to put Midland on the board, 7-2.
The Seahawks added to their tally in the bottom of the second, scoring three runs on two hits and one error to extend the lead to 10-2.
Keiser tacked on another run with a solo home run in the third to make it 11-2.
The Seahawks continued their scoring in the fourth, drawing a walk and a hit-by-pitch before using a fielder’s choice to advance a runner to third. A single brought one home to push the lead to 12-2.
Midland answered in the top of the fifth. Brody Boyle led off with a single, followed by a groundout to advance him to second. Jimmy Martinez singled to put two runners on. Cooper Benecke doubled to right field to score Boyle. Wandler followed with a single through the left side to bring home Martinez, and a sacrifice fly by Glover plated Benecke as the Warriors cut the deficit to 12-5.
Jax Sorensen opened the eighth inning with a single, and Boyle was hit by a pitch to put two runners aboard. An error by the Seahawks allowed Sorensen to score, making it 12-6.
Keiser responded with three runs in the bottom of the eighth to extend the lead to 15-6.
Midland battled in the ninth, but the Seahawks kept the Warriors off the board to secure the 15-6 win and close out the series.

Midland (3-10) will travel to St. Louis, Missouri, for a four-game series featuring two games against Missouri Baptist (9-3) and Freed-Hardeman (13-3) on Friday and Saturday, March 6-7. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday against Missouri Baptist, with the second game of the day set for 3 p.m. against Freed-Hardeman.
