HASTINGS, Neb. – Meeting for the second time this season, Midland University traveled to face (RV) Hastings College on Wednesday night in Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) action. The Warriors and Broncos squared off on the hardwood inside Lynn Farrell Arena, with the home team pulling away for a 103-60 victory to complete the season sweep.

Hastings scored the first four points of the game and led throughout. Midland got on the board in the opening minute as Addy Offutt cut the early deficit in half. Moments later, a three-point play by Ellie Bovaird trimmed the Bronco lead to one, 6-5, before a quick 6-0 run pushed it back out. At the midway point of the first quarter, Hastings led 14-8.

Down the stretch of the opening frame, the lead grew as the Broncos shot 64.7% from the field and converted all six of their free throws. Midland countered with a solid 53.3% shooting mark and one successful trip to the free-throw line. After 10 minutes of action, Hastings held a 30-19 advantage.

In the second quarter, the teams traded baskets early, with Bovaird and Jenna Weberscoring for the visitors. Hastings utilized its depth with wholesale lineup changes and slowly wore down the Warriors. A 13-0 run stretched the lead to 19 points with just over three minutes remaining in the half, as the Broncos carried a 53-35 lead into the intermission.

Following halftime, the script remained the same as the margin continued to grow. Weber found her rhythm in the third quarter, scoring six of her 13 points. Bovaird, who had 11 points at the break, drew the focus of the defense and was held to just two points in the final 20 minutes. The duo led Midland with 13 points apiece.

The final quarter saw Hastings pull back the reins offensively while giving extended minutes to several reserves. Even so, the Broncos still reached the century mark in the closing minutes, cruising to the 103-60 win, their 11th consecutive victory in the series.

Mya Lempp and Armanii Brazile paced the Warriors off the bench with nine and eight points, respectively, while Offutt added seven points and a team-high seven rebounds in her eighth start of the season.

As a team, Midland shot 41.1% (23-of-56) from the field, knocking down eight 3-pointers (8-of-17) and six free throws (6-of-9). Hastings finished the night shooting 56.0% (42-of-75), also connecting on eight triples (8-of-17) and 11 free throws (11-of-15). The Broncos held a 44-29 advantage on the glass and scored 36 points off 19 Midland turnovers.

Midland (3-20, 2-15 GPAC) faces another tough challenge this weekend when it hosts Briar Cliff (17-7, 11-7 GPAC). The Warriors dropped the first meeting of the season, 75-50, in early January. The rematch is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, in Fremont. Prior to the contest, Midland will honor its 2026 seniors and their families.
