Rose Ella Knoell, 91, of Fremont died Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Nye Courte in Fremont.

Rosella was born April 16, 1934 in Blair to Howard and Erma Fink. She resided with her family to include a brother Don Fink in Herman. She attended the Herman Public Schools and graduated with honors from Herman High School in 1951. She moved to Fremont and held several jobs to include Paul’s Card Shop and Mode O Day in downtown Fremont. She married LaMond Knoell on November 14, 1953 at Bluffs Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Fremont. LaMond and Rosella just celebrated their 72nd Anniversary at Nye Court with family. They started their family on Second Street with children Lora, Kevin and Lisa. In 1969 they built a home northwest of Fremont in the countryside.

There they resided for 47 years. Rosella loved the country, able to do large gardens, flower beds and planted many trees. She had many hobbies, interests and activities in their church that she enjoyed. She loved cooking, sewing and made many quilts, all hand sewn. She taught Sunday School, Bible School and was in the women’s Circle. Rosella was a long time member of the extension club, “Sugar and Spice” and enjoyed all the close friendships made. She also enjoyed and took great pride in serving on the Dodge County Election Board for 40 years.

LaMond and Rosella started traveling after Lamond retired and they visited 48 states to include Alaska, Hawaii. They also visited Canada to see the polar bears.

Rosella is survived by her husband LaMond, children Lora Streiff, Kevin Knoell and Lisa Knoell. Grandchildren, Jamie (Anthony)Brown, Jared Evans, Alyssa (Jon) Feilmeier, Morgan (Michael) Fischer, Jackson (Larissa) Streiff and 8 great grandchildren. Brother Donald (Gloria) Fink, Brother-in-law, Mark (Linda) Knoell and sister-in-law Ruthann Jacobsen and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws Ray and Ruth Knoell, brother-in-law Roger Knoell and James Jacobsen III.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. The family will be present from 5 to 7.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church east of Fremont, with burial to follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church.
