Wendy L. Field, 56, of Fremont passed away on November 11, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. She was born on August 9, 1969, to Steve and Pat (Stewart) Giittinger, in Nebraska City.

She grew up in Humboldt and attended high school there. In 1987 Wendy graduated high school and went on to attend college in Lincoln. On May 24, 1997, she married Joseph Field.

Wendy worked in customer service her whole life. She worked at Big Red Keno, Furst Group, and Sav-Rx. She was truly a jack of all trades.

Family meant more to Wendy than anything else. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids; and cooking meals for them. In her free time Wendy could be found planting flowers and playing cards. She also loved the holidays and all the festivities that came along with them.

Wendy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ken & Wava Giittinger, and Al & Hilda Stewart; parents-in-law Melvin Sr. & Sharon Field; sister-in-law Louise Field; and brothers-in-law, Anthony, James, and Paul Field.

She is remembered by her loving husband, Joe Field of Fremont; her parents, Steve & Pat of Opelika, Alabama; sons, Christopher (Acacia) O’Flaherty, Blaine (Heidi) Field, James Field, and Alex Field; brother Nathan (Brenda) Giittinger of Ocala, Florida; brothers-in law, Tim (Lynda) Field and Melvin Field; grandchildren, Hudson and Lincoln Field, and Finley and Murphy O’Flaherty; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service honoring Wendy will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2025, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Moser’s.

The family requests family and friends wear casual attire to the service.
