SIOUX CITY, Iowa. – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced its 2025 Men’s Soccer All-Conference teams, and eight members of the Midland University men’s soccer program have been recognized for their outstanding play this season. The Warriors earned three First Team selections, three Second Team honors, and two honorable mentions after a strong 13-4-2 campaign that saw them finish second in the conference regular-season standings.
Headlining the list are Lucas Foreman, Hugo Fragueiro, and Hugo Garcia-Rosado Duran, who were each named to the All-GPAC First Team. Foreman and Garcia also captured two of the league’s top individual awards, with Foreman being named the GPAC Defensive Player of the Year and Garcia earning GPAC Offensive Player of the Year honors. It was a repeat honor for Garcia as the top offensive player.
Foreman, a stalwart on the Midland back line, anchored a defense that allowed just 18 goals in 19 matches and posted eight shutouts. The senior logged 1,481 minutes, starting every match while contributing offensively with two goals and two assists.
Garcia-Rosado Duran was the driving force of Midland’s attack, leading the GPAC in both goals and points. The forward scored 18 goals and added seven assists for a total of 43 points, including five game-winning goals. He converted both of his penalty-kick attempts and posted an impressive .243 shooting percentage on 74 total shots.
Fragueiro was a key two-way midfielder for the Warriors, starting 15 of his 17 appearances. He contributed one goal and one assist while playing a pivotal role in Midland’s transition game and possession control.
On the All-GPAC Second Team, Thomas Gibson, Tomas Reyes, and Nacho Salmeron were each recognized for their impact. Gibson tallied two goals and one assist while providing veteran leadership in the midfield. Reyes was a mainstay in goal, appearing in 17 games with a 9-4-2 record, 1.16 goals-against average, and .766 save percentage while earning four shutouts. Salmeron recorded five goals and three assists for 13 points, ranking among the team’s top offensive contributors.
Earning All-GPAC Honorable Mention were Nathan Powis and Matus Vlna. Powis was a steady defensive presence with 16 starts and one goal on the year, while Vlna added two goals and three assists across 18 appearances.
Midland owns a 13-4-2 overall record and posted a 7-2-1 mark in GPAC play. The Warriors are hopeful that they’ll garner an at-large berth to the NAIA National Tournament, which will be announced on Friday.
