Karen K. Hansen, 74, of Fremont passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha.
Karen was born on February 12, 1951, in Shenandoah, Iowa, to Roy and Darlene (Surber) Maben. She was one of 10 children and grew up surrounded by a large family that included her siblings Robert, Roy, Gene, Marty, Elton, Donnie, William, Jim, Richard, Connie, and June.
In May of 1972, Karen was united in marriage to Roger Hansen in Fremont. Together they shared many happy years and raised a family built on love and devotion.
Throughout her life, Karen worked in nursing homes and motels, but her greatest joy came from caring for her children and spending time with her family. She enjoyed needlepoint, reading, crossword puzzles, word searches, and watching movies. Above all, Karen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who would do anything for those she loved.
Karen is survived by her children, Larry Davis Hansen, Sam (Crystal) Hansen, Mark Hansen, and Jerry (Deserae) Hansen; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held.
