David Lyle Daily, 71, of Fremont passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on May 12, 1954 in Sargent to James Alvin “Jim” and Joan Mary (Stanford) Daily.

David grew up in California and married Roseanne Williams in 1974. The couple later moved to Tekamah in 1989. They divorced in 2001. David later remarried and made his home in Texas. In 2016 David moved back to Nebraska.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from August 22, 1972, to August 21, 1980, during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, David worked as an Operator Instructor for OPPD at Fort Calhoun.

David is survived by his children, Josh (Kileen) Daily of Florida; Christy Metzler of Omaha; and Sarah (Brian) Lee of Fremont. He also leaves behind his brother, Tom (Lisa) Daily of Michigan; sisters Nancy Arocha-Auger of Las Vegas, Nevada, Julie Roehler, Mary Romine and Jane Kindig of California; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial will take place at the Victoria Creek Cemetery (New Helena Cemetery) near Anselmo. Online condolences may be left at: www.mosermemorialchapels.com.
