At about 5:06 p.m. Monday, Fremont police were dispatched to East Military Avenue and North Pebble Street in reference to a bicycle-car accident.
The investigation determined that the bicyclist, 62-year-old Robert G. Leonard, who police say is homeless, was riding his bicycle south on North Pebble approaching Military Avenue. A vehicle being driven by Richard P. Richards, 78, of Fremont was traveling east on Military Avenue. The bicyclist did not yield to the eastbound vehicle and they collided.
Leonard was transported by squad to Methodist Fremont Health. He was also issued a citation for violation of a stop/yield sign.
