
Richard L. Waage, 81, of Fremont passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Nebraska Methodist in Omaha. He was born January 20, 1944 in Villisca, Iowa, to Fay “Gene” and Dorothy (Lane) Waage.
He was raised in Fremont and then served in the U.S. Navy from July 25, 1961 to January 15, 1965 during Vietnam. After the military he returned to Fremont where he worked at General Electric in Omaha and Jayhawk Box. Richard was then a truck driver for 27 years. After his retirement he drove school buses for Fremont Public Schools for about 10 years.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Karlene and Darlene Waage; brothers, Gene (Sandy) Waage and Luke (Carol) Waage all of Fremont; sister, Nancy (Randy) Tamblyn of Washington state; sisters-in-law, Nancy Jo Waage and Mary Waage and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim, Gary and Duke and an infant sister and brother.
Memorial Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev Tony Dawson will officiate. Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Friday prior to the service also at Moser’s. Interment with Military Honors will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
