A Kansas man has died after being hit by a semi-truck Thursday at a truck stop in Fremont, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said.
The DCSO was dispatched at about 6:42 p.m. to 4260 North Broad Street for a personal injury crash.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that a pedestrian had been struck by a Mack Truck near the fuel island at the Sapp Bros. Travel Center. The pedestrian, identified as Skyler Norman, 70, of Gem, Kansas, was transported to Methodist Fremont Health where he died from his injuries.
The incident continues to be under investigation by the DCSO with the assistance of the Nebraska State Patrol. The sheriff’s
office was also assisted by the Fremont Fire Department and the Fremont Rural Fire Department.
