Brian E. Johnson, 66, of Arlington, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ suddenly at his farm Monday night August 25, 2025.

Brian was born April 27, 1959 to Richard and Rita (Gerwick) in Fremont and later moved to an acreage south of Snyder. The family moved back to Fremont where Brian grew up and attended Linden Grade School, graduating from Fremont High School in 1977.

The family started Johnson’s Cycle in 1973 where Brian would ride his bike after school. That family business is still operating today. Although Brian was considered a master mechanic able to diagnose just about any problem, he was a farmer at heart.

He married Tamara (Tami Svendgard), September 6, 1980 at Fremont Alliance Church where they attended kindergarten bible school together.

After apartment life for 1 ½ years, the couple purchased a fixer upper house in Fontanelle. Brian being the handy guy he was completed many projects during the seven years they lived there. Their sons, Cody and Curt, where born during that time. After several moves the couple built their forever home where Brian was able to live out his dream as a farmer and raise cattle.

He studied any information he could to develop just the right cross between Angus, Gelbvieh, Piedmontese, and Wagyu to get the best marbling and the best tasting beef. His comment of “let’s have 4 won’t that be fun” grew to a herd of more than 50. He loved his cows and could be found many mornings with his coffee in his Ranger watching them.

His greatest love was his family and enjoyed the times he shared with his wife, his boys and his granddaughters. The relationship they had was a blessing to all.

Brian loved team roping and went to as many ropings and jackpots as he was able riding as a header. He also enjoyed fishing with his wife and spent many an afternoon on the Platte River on an airboat and later on Merritt Reservoir.

He is survived by his wife of almost 45 years, sons Cody (Carly) Johnson of Gretna and Curt (Lexi) Johnson of Valley and granddaughters Jentry, Bailey and Avery Johnson, father Richard Johnson of Fremont, brother Mike (Joni) Johnson and nephew Tyler Johnson all of Redding, California, mothers-in-law Fran Miller of Arlington and Carol Svendgard of Fremont, sisters-in-law Mindy (Ben) Misfeldt of Arlington and Shelly Miller of Kennard, brother-in-law Mike (Cathy) Miller of Oakland and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, sister Brenda, brothers-in-law Doug Svendgard and Jim Miller and sister-in-law Patti Svendgard and fathers-in-law Andy Svendgard and Darrell Miller.

Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont, with the family present from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Fremont Alliance Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
