MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx announced today that the team has re-signed veteran forward Jessica Shepard. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.
Shepard, 6-4, recently completed her season overseas, earning Eurobasket.com’s Greek A1 League Player of the Year honors after helping Athinaikos Qualco reach the A1 finals for the first time in eight years. Shepard missed the 2024 WNBA season due to fulfilling contract commitments with her Italian club, Umana Reyer Venezia, and being subject to the WNBA’s collectively bargained prioritization rules. In 2023, she appeared in 21 games (17 starts) with the Lynx, averaging 8.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 26.7 minutes per contest while shooting 51.6% from the field and 77.4% from the free throw line.
Shepard was selected by Minnesota with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft after a collegiate career with Notre Dame (2017-19) and Nebraska (2015-17). Through 85 games in a Lynx uniform, she has posted career averages of 6.3 points (48.3%), 6.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 21.7 minutes per outing.
Shepard will wear No. 15 for Minnesota.
