Michael S. Nielsen, 58, of Fremont passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025 at his home. He was born September 24, 1966 in Fremont to Evan “Vic” and Lois (Moore) Nielsen.
Mike grew up in Fremont and graduated from Fremont Senior High School in 1984. He attended Metropolitan Community College in Fremont.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont, Knights of Columbus and very involved in volunteering at his church. Member of Fremont Eagles Club FOE No. 200. He was a huge Huskers and Steelers fan.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard Nielsen and son, Michael Nielsen.
He is survived by his sons, Chris Spiecker of Fremont and Calvin (Victoria) Nielsen of Lincoln; daughter, Melissa (Schuyler) Haynes of Fremont; brothers, Ken (Sharon) Nielsen of Elkhorn, Ron Nielsen of Kearney, and Bob (Sandy) Nielsen of Fremont; grandchildren Skye, Noah and Raeleigh; special friends, Todd and Shiela Wall of Fremont; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Rev. Father, Bill Cremers will officiate. A Knights of Columbus Living Rosary will be at 9 a.m. also at the church.
Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
