SEWARD, Neb. – On the final night of the regular season, Midland University traveled to Seward, Nebraska to take on Concordia University in a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) matchup on Wednesday. Playing through wet conditions, the Bulldogs used a strong start to catapult them to a 6-0 win over the Warriors.
Concordia jumped ahead early, scoring two quick goals in the 2nd and 7th minutes of the contest to set the tone. The Bulldogs extended their advantage with another goal in the 35th minute, bringing the score to 3-0 by halftime. Midland struggled to find its rhythm in the first half, with the home team outshooting their guests 7-3 overall with all 7 shots on frame.
After the break, the Bulldogs maintained their offensive momentum, scoring three additional goals in the 54th, 57th, and 66th minutes. All attempts at a comeback were denied as Midland was held scoreless, falling 6-0 to Concordia.
With final results from around the GPAC, Midland (4-4-3, 4-4-3 GPAC) wraps up the regular season in eighth for the final spot in the upcoming postseason conference tournament. The Warriors will travel to Hastings, Nebraska to take on top-seeded and GPAC Regular Season Champion, Hastings (12-1-5, 8-0-3 GPAC), this weekend in the opening round of the 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament. The match will take place on Saturday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. in Hastings, Neb.
