The Dodge County Historical Society Board of Directors has announced Tony Pasley as the society’s new executive director.

The appointment was effective on Sept. 3. Pasley’s background includes serving as executive director of the Washington County Historical Association and adjunct History instructor at Midland University and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Most recently, he served as an outreach assistant for the nonprofit OneWorld Community Health Centers.

“The board of directors looks forward to Tony’s leadership,” said Joe Dickmeyer, board president. “He has some fantastic ideas and I’m excited for the museum’s future.”

Pasley is a professional historian with a background in education and holds bachelors and masters degrees in history with minors in Native American History. He enjoys “uncovering and sharing the stories that shape our past.” Pasley plans to use his experience in research, writing, and teaching to contribute to preserving Dodge County’s historical narratives.

“I’m eager to use my skills in curriculum development and public engagement to make meaningful contributions to the museum and society,” he said. “I’m honored to take on this exciting new role at a significant time in the organization’s history with this year marking the 150th anniversary of construction of the Theron Nye home.”

The May Museum is open for tours Wednesday through Saturday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per adult, $1 per student and children 5-and-under are free. For more information call 402-721-4515 or visit the museum website at: https://maymuseum.com/default.html.
