Gregory “Greg” A. Smith, 68, of Fremont passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. He was born July 31, 1956 to Robert and Dorothy (Zrust) Smith in Fremont.
He was a lifelong Fremont resident graduating from Archbishop Bergan High School. He worked at Christensen Lumber before starting his own company, Professional Cabinet Concepts. Greg was an active member of the community serving as an officer for the Fremont Contractors and as a volunteer firefighter for the Fremont Fire Department. He loved volunteering and being around his friends. His passions were fishing, football and posting on Facebook (in his later years).
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lisa Marie.
He is survived by his son, Cody Smith of Nashville, Tennessee; sister, Barbara Shelton; brothers, Steve Smith and Jeff (Suzanne) Smith all of Fremont. Greg had three grandchildren, James, Dean and Kathryn who were his pride and joy.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Moser Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour before the service starting at 9 a.m. Saturday.
