mainstreet-new

MainStreet of Fremont has announced that the annual Hispanic Festival is scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

The event, celebrating Hispanic culture, will feature an incredible array of family-friendly activities, live music, traditional dances, art exhibitions, and mouth-watering Hispanic cuisine. The event aims to enhance cultural understanding and foster unity, while providing a platform for local talents to shine.

The festival will begin at 5 p.m. Friday in John C. Fremont Park. The event will feature food vendors, a pupusa eating contest (5 to 6 p.m.), a dance contest for all ages (6 to 9 p.m..) and the crowning of the 2024 Little Princess, Princess, and Queen.

On Saturday, the festival will continue with more performances, food, and activities. From 9 a.m. to noon, a free craft for kids is available at Gallery 92 West. Play Loteria to win fun prizes from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the picnic shelter at the park and enjoy a live Mariachi performance from 11 a.m. to noon.

There will be a parade on Main St. beginning at First and leading back into the park on Eighth from noon to 1 p.m.  After the parade at the park, you will find vendors, live music, and more fun all evening.

The Fremont Hispanic Festival is free and open to everyone. For more information about the festival, including vendor and volunteer opportunities, please visit www.mainstreetfremont.com/hispanicfestival or contact MainStreet of Fremont Executive Director, Lainey Paquette.
