Dennis W. Vech, 80, of Morse Bluff passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Methodist Fremont Health.

Dennis was born on September 27, 1943 to Ernest and Alice (Hines) Vech in North Bend. He attended grade school at District 54 and graduated from high school in 1961 from Prague. He was in the Army Reserve from 1964 to 1965.

On September 28, 1985 he married Elaine Hanke Borer at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Dennis took on the responsibility with this marriage of four children – Thelma, Elizabeth, Chris, and Mike.

Dennis was a lifelong farmer. He was past president of Better Life Insurance Co (formerly WFLA) and was current local vice president. He served one term on Chester Precinct and ran the road grader.

He was preceded by his parents; parents-in-law, Roy and Francis Hanke; sister, Darlene Dufek; sisters-in-laws, Jane Ramaeker and Nancy Schaecher; brothers-in-laws, Adolph Dufek, Eddie Ramaekers, Jerry Ludden, Wayne Irving, Steve Borer, Jerry Cyza, and Earl Arnold.

He is survived by his wife Elaine Hanke Borer Vech of 38 years; daughters, Thelma (Tom) Fujan and Elizabeth (Mark) Rezac; sons, Chris (Michelle) Borer and Michael (Lisa) Borer; 10 grandchildren, Paula (Josh) Ell, Jack Fujan, Micaela (Chase) Dorn, Morgan (Peter) Vankat, Cortney Borer, Collin Borer, Danielle Rosse, Zachery Borer, Bailey Borer, Lacy Borer and fiancé Ryan Roesler.; four great grandchildren; sisters-in-laws, Pat Ludden, Loann Irving, Bonnie Cyza, Leann Arnold, and Barb Borer; brothers-in-laws, Jerry (Diane) Hanke, Gene (Pam) Schaecher, and Lyle (Jacque) Borer; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Father Carson Kain will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a wake service starting at 7 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Killian Cemetery near Morse Bluff.
