The Fremont Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon.
FPD was called at about 1:35 p.m. to the area of South Broad Street and Shuster Ranch Road. The investigation determined that a semi tractor and trailer was involved in an accident with a black-colored SUV, resulting in one fatality.
Authorities said it is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were involved. The accident remains under investigation. The names of the drivers are being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
FPD officials thanked Fremont Fire and Rescue, City of Fremont Street Department, Nebraska State Patrol, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
