Randy J. Keithley of Fremont entered the gates of heaven on May 5, 2024, after suffering a heart attack at the age of 70. Randy was born on April 26, 1954 to Olin and Marguerite Keithley in West Point. After graduating from Logan View High School in 1972, he went on to earn his teaching degree with honors from Wayne State College.
In 1975, he married Cherie Johnson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Uehling. Together they had five children – Derek, Brant, Darin, Jaclyn, and Samantha.
Randy began his career as a teacher in Blencoe, Iowa. Through life moves to Fremont, Hooper and Elkhorn, Randy made wonderful friendships along the way. He enjoyed his home south of Fremont where he could be near his children and grandchildren. For over 40 years, Randy served the Fremont community as a dedicated mail carrier. If he was on your route he could recite your address like a well-versed poet. He also founded Omega Water Systems in 1978 with his brother Perry, providing sprinkler system services. He continued to work part-time with his son Darin in the business until his passing.
Randy is reunited with his son Derek, parents Olin and Marguerite, brother Perry, and dear friends Gary Ristau and Randy Dallman. His love and impact live on through his children Brant, Darin (Gabby), Jaclyn (Brett Haney), and Samantha (Jake) Wise; grandchildren Leah, Isla, Calvin, and soon-to-be Baby Wise; sister Carol Piser; brother Mike Keithley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A visitation with family receiving friends will be conducted 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 10 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. All are invited to celebrate Randy’s life from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19 at Woodcliff Community Center, with a special presentation at 2:30 p.m.
